Great places for colonies.

So you want to build a colony? You of course need to find a place for your colony. The location of a colony should always be located in an area with a flat surface and easy acces to other colonies. Lets run down a list of the planets and Moons (that can be colonized)

Terra - A great example of where colonies should be places. Most Terran colonies are near water, for easy trade and for fertility of the soil, resulting in good agriculture and food for the colonists. There is still a major difference between Terran Colonies and Planetary Colonies, on Terra, you could easily find any resource that could sustain a group if people for long enough, while travelling the world. Terra has life, but other bodies have not. This is a major difference.

Luna - On Luna, you have 2 options for a colony: In the Lunar Mares or the Poles. The Poles have free water to offer, yet the Terrain is rough, and daylight is rare. Although less sunlight is good against radiation, but landing in darkness, with rough terrain is awfull and painfull. On the Lunar Mares, you have a nice flat plane, wich is good for building a colony. Yet in daylight it is hot (around 400-500K) and at night it is super cold. You also do not find much water, since it evaporates in the sun. A lunar Mare colony also has to be on the equator, because getting back to orbital station for supplies while not on the right position can be very fuel expensive. Wich place do you prefer?

Venus - The surface of Venus is uninhabitable, the temprature is so hot it can melt lead, and the pressure is so high it can crush you. Yet above the surface in the air, you can live. The exact location would not really matter, if you live in an airship you will be blown away to different places. Using air instead of hydrogen, for a floating gas could make you float in the dense atmosphere. And with gas mask and protection against acidic rain, you could survive without a spacesuit. The constaintly moving airship is a bad thing, for resupplies and the lack of resources to gather makes it hard to
sustain as a colony.

Mars - In the Northen Hemisphere, near the North Pole is an ideal spot. A Flat surface, with nearby water and CO2, it is great for a colony. This is also great for Methane, the fuel used in many future spacecraft. This is personally the best spot in the inner Solar System. Its almost like Earth there!

Welcome to the Space Network!

Hello people reading this! This is my worldbuilding blog.

What is this universe all about?
Its all about the colonization of our Solar System, space industries and more realistic, yet plausible space stuff.

What sort of things will this feature?
Mostly maps, ideas, and designs. But also other things, like things that could happend in a space like this. Alot of things will by demonstrated in KSP too (RSS/RO)

When will you post stuff?
Whenever i feel like it.

What material will you use?
I will draw stuff on paper, most at the time. But i will also test my things in KSP with RSS/RO installed.

Feel free to ask more questions.
